The Copper Men of Lower Silesia. Zagłębie Lubin are a club built on the copper mining heritage of the Lubin region, with two league titles and a proud identity that punches well above the size of their city. Green and black, tough and determined.
Founded in 1945 and closely linked to the KGHM copper mining company, Zagłębie Lubin have always reflected the industrial character of their region. Despite coming from a relatively small city, they have twice won the Ekstraklasa title — in 1991 and 2007 — and have been a consistent presence in the top flight of Polish football.
Their 2007 title was particularly impressive, coming as something of a surprise and demonstrating the club's ability to compete with Poland's bigger names. Backed by KGHM, one of the world's largest copper producers, Zagłębie have solid foundations and continue to develop talent through their academy.
Green and black — a striking and distinctive combination that sets Zagłębie apart from most clubs in Polish football. The copper heritage of the region is reflected in the club's identity, and the green and black kit is worn with real Lower Silesian pride.
Their kits have a unique look that makes them stand out, and the Miedziowi identity is something supporters carry with genuine passion.
