Penrith Panthers

The Penrith Panthers were founded in 1966 and joined the NSWRL competition in 1967, representing the communities at the foot of the Blue Mountains in western Sydney. The club spent their early decades as a competitive but trophy-less side before winning their first premiership in 1991 under coach Phil Gould. A second title followed in 2003, but it was the modern era that would define the Panthers as one of the great clubs in NRL history.

Under coach Ivan Cleary and with a squad built almost entirely through their own junior development system, the Panthers won three consecutive NRL premierships in 2021, 2022, and 2023 — the first club to achieve the feat since the Brisbane Broncos won back-to-back titles in 1992 and 1993.
