Les Éléphants. Historie
Ivory Coast won their first AFCON title in 1992 and have been one of Africa's most consistent football nations ever since. Their golden generation of the 2000s and 2010s — featuring Didier Drogba, Yaya Touré, Kolo Touré, and Salomon Kalou — qualified for three consecutive World Cups in 2006, 2010, and 2014, and were widely regarded as one of the most talented African squads ever assembled.
A second AFCON title followed in 2015, and in 2023 Ivory Coast hosted and won the tournament on home soil, defeating Nigeria in the final in one of the competition's most dramatic recent editions. With a new generation of talent including Seko Fofana and Simon Adingra, Les Éléphants are firmly back at the top of African football.
