Historie
Founded in 1875 by Irish immigrants in the Leith area of Edinburgh, Hibernian FC have a rich cultural heritage that runs deep. They were one of the first British clubs to compete in European football, reaching the semi-finals of the inaugural European Cup in 1955-56.
The club is perhaps best remembered for the Famous Five — Gordon Smith, Bobby Johnstone, Lawrie Reilly, Eddie Turnbull, and Willie Ormond — one of the greatest forward lines in British football history. More recently, Hibs ended a 114-year wait for the Scottish Cup in 2016, beating Rangers in a dramatic final. A moment their fans will never forget.
