Edinburgh Rugby

Edinburgh Rugby were formed in 1996 as part of the Scottish Rugby Union's move into professional rugby, consolidating clubs from the east of Scotland into a regional franchise. Playing their home matches at Murrayfield — the home of Scottish rugby and one of the largest and most atmospheric stadiums in the northern hemisphere — Edinburgh have had the advantage of one of the great venues in world rugby throughout their existence.

Edinburgh have been a consistent presence in European competition, reaching the European Challenge Cup final in 2015 and regularly competing in the Heineken Champions Cup. The club has produced and developed numerous Scottish internationals, including Greig Laidlaw, Grant Gilchrist, and Hamish Watson, who have gone on to represent Scotland and the British & Irish Lions.
